Programming
If you have an ECU problem with a Fiat vehicle you will be aware that the Engine ECU (ECM) and Immobiliser (BCM / BSI) are programmed to each other (Locked). A diagnostic scanner used by garages & workshops is not capable of re-programming secondhand units, however we are able to bench program (Data swap or 'clone') secondhand units enabling them to be re-used needing no further programming necessary. We stock various Fiat based ECU's, if we don't have your unit available we offer a cloning service if you can supply a donor unit - all you have to do is simply send us your original & donor units. We also offer a Europe wide mail order service.

Fiat / Alfa / ECU Virginising
When an ECU for a Fiat based vehicle needs to be replaced & cloning is not possible, this could be due to the faulty ECU being lost / stolen or too badly damaged to retrieve data another option is virginising a second hand unit – once the virginised ECU is installed onto the vehicle in most cases the immobiliser system ‘Self-codes’ to the virgin ECU without the need for further programming with diagnostic tools or equipment.

Fiat / Alfa BCM Programming
Many model Fiat vehicles such as the Fiat 500, Fiat Punto / Grand Punto / Stilo / Ducato etc use a Body Control Module or ‘BCM’ – these often get water damaged or have internal components burn out leading to immobiliser faults leading to faults such as the lights / wiper not working and with many Fiat 500 models the rear tailgate release not operating correctly along with central locking faults and even the air-con not working. Because the BCM on a Fiat is the main component of the immobiliser it is not possible to replace it with a secondhand unit for example from a breakers yard or from Ebay – If you have a faulty BCM you may have been advised to go to the main dealer for replacement as they are programmed to each individual vehicle and not ‘interchangeable’ (You may also be horrified by the price of a new unit!) – Relax, we have the solution! We can re-program a second hand unit by transferring the data from your faulty unit to a second-hand replacement (Donor) BCM. This technique called cloning means the replacement BCM will plug straight into your Fiat & work without any further programming of keys etc necessary – Simply send us your old (Faulty) Fiat BCM & a replacement unit and in just a few days you will get your donor BCM ready to fit onto your vehicle, we are even able to extract the data from your faulty BCM even if you have ‘no communication’ with a diagnostic scanner – Please call for more information or click on the link below to visit our online shop

Fiat Instrument Cluster Programming
We regularly repair & replace many types of Fiat instrument clusters. The most common of which is the Fiat 500 cluster, common faults for repair is the centre screen needing replacing due to partial or complete failure of the pixels, LED ‘light bleed’ – often when some of the LED lights around the perimeter of the binnacle cause illumination of other warning lights. If you have already replaced the cluster on a Fiat 500 or another Fiat based vehicle you will be aware that they are not ‘Plug & Play’, although the car will start & run you will find that the milometer will be flashing, this is not a problem for us to fix – we can either clone the data from your old faulty cluster onto the replacement part, alternatively we can ‘Proxy align’ the cluster via the vehicles diagnostic OBD socket, this will stop the milometer flashing, we can then also perform mileage correction bringing the displayed mileage on the cluster correct for the vehicle.

Fiat 500 Airbag ECU Repairs
If you have a Fiat 500 based vehicle (Ford KA etc) / Punto or grand Punto airbag ECU which has failed & does not communicate with diagnostic tools, don’t worry – you are not alone! The usual symptoms are that the airbag light is illuminated, often the seat belt reminder light is also illuminated and the mileage display in the speedometer is flashing along with the error message ‘Fuel cut-off unavailable’ on the dashboard display. There is often other fault codes in the vehicles other systems such as the instrument cluster displaying codes of ‘No communication with Airbag ECU’. You may of tried to perform a ‘Proxi alignment’ unsuccessfully to rectify this fault with the error message ‘Airbag node unavailable’. To rectify this fault permanently simply send us your faulty Airbag ECU & we will first test the unit for free and replace the necessary components with new parts & fully test the unit after repair. Once the unit has been returned to you it will simply plug in & work with no further programming necessary (You may need to clear fault codes after refitting with a diagnostic tool). For units which are beyond repair we can clone the data from your old faulty airbag ECU onto a replacement unit. Airbag ECU Crash data / Cloning
Crash data needs to be removed from SRS control units after a car has had collision and a safety feature has been activated such as seat belt pre-tensioners, airbags, fuel cut-off systems etc. This usually appears as the airbag warning light being illuminated and fails to extinguish when garages try to clear fault codes with a standard diagnostic scanner. We can remove crash data from most airbag control units fitted to vehicles. In many cases this can be used to remove an ‘Internal control module error’ fault code. This is NOT a repair service for an airbag module that has hardware faults or has ‘No communications’ with the vehicle systems or diagnostic tools. If your airbag ECU has ‘No comms’ with diagnostic tools we offer various no comms repairs for Fiat based vehicles & cloning services when it is not possible to repair a unit.
