A cars ECU (Engine control unit) is 'locked' to a vehicles immobiliser system and cannot be simply placed onto another car for re-use. Body Control Modules

Most body control modules are programmed to a vehicles immobiliser system & ECU and cannot be simply replaced with a secondhand unit, although most modern scanners used in garages will allow configurations to be carried out they are not able to program secondhand units to be reprogrammed - We can help! we are able to transfer data files from a faulty BCM to a donor unit enabling them to work with no further programming necessary or if required we can virginise some BSI's for re-use

If you have a faulty ECU unit & need to replace it you may have been shocked by the price of a new unit from the dealership, fear not we have a much more cost effective solution ‘ECU Cloning’ is the process of extracting the vehicle coding data from your faulty ECU & transferring it onto a secondhand replacement unit. This method of ECU replacement is far cheaper than a new unit (apx 20% of the cost of a new replacement) And also usually much cheaper than an ECU repair with no parts being used from your faulty unit. All you have to do is simply bring or send us your original ECU and your donor unit. We can also ‘virginise’ many ECU’s some of which selfcode to your vehicles immobiliser system. Immobilizer deletes

An ‘Immobilizer delete’ can be be used when an ECU needs to be set to a ‘Free running’ or ‘Immo off’ state. The ECU will then fit onto the vehicle & start and run perfectly without the need of further programming of keys etc – a non transponder key can be used to start the vehicle and this service will cure a faulty immobilizer system. This service is particularly useful when a cars ECU has either been lost or is damaged beyond repair & it is not possible to extract the necessary data to clone a secondhand ECU

ECU Virginizing

Our virginising service is for the virginizing of a used / secondhand ECU so it can be re-used on another vehicle – Once it has been re-programmed to an ‘As new’ (Virgin) state it will in many cases ‘self code’ to your immobilizer system when it is plugged in with no further programming of keys etc necessary. Some manufacturers of vehicle ECUs will need final coding with dealer level diagnostic tool. This service is particularly useful if your original ECU is either damaged beyond repair & it is not possible to extract necessary data to clone the ECU or if your ECU has been lost or stolen. Remapping

We offer a full ECU remapping service in Norwich for most makes & models of vehicle both petrol and diesel, whether its an extra performance remap or an economy remap that you require we can assist! Average performance tuning remapping will usually gain from 10% with a stage 1 remap to over 30% for a turbo diesel remap. We always keep a backup file of your old software which can be put back into your ECU if you are unhappy – Don’t trust clowns with Chinese equipment bought on eBay! – ECU’s are our speciality! Airbag ECU Cloning / Crash Data Reset

When a vehicle is involved in a collision data is stored inside the airbag control unit (Airbag ECU), this ‘crash data’ makes the warning light illuminate and switches off the airbag system (MOT fail) once the damaged parts have been replaced the airbag light remains illuminated and cannot usually be extinguished with a standard diagnostic scanner. We can remove crash data from most makes & models of car, usually this will need the Airbag ECU removing from the vehicle & being reprogrammed ‘On bench’ although sometimes (But not usually) via the OBD socket. We can remove crash data from most makes & models of car. We can also in many cases remove ‘Internal control module error’ fault codes which often occur after flat batteries & jump starts. After the crash data has been reset the airbag system will work correctly again without the warning light being illuminated.

When the airbag control module has a ‘No communiction fault either from blown components or water damage etc we can clone the data from a faulty airbag ECU to a secondhand replacement unit rather than buying a new unit from a dealership saving hundreds of pounds – We also offer ‘No comms’ repairs on various airbag ECU units

Clusters / Mileage correction

Based on Sprowston road Norwich we are experts in diagnosing and either repairing or programming & replacing clusters on all makes and model cars, we can ‘clone’ information from one cluster to a secondhand unit if you have a faulty cluster and wish to fit a donor unit to your car – even if your original cluster is completely dead! (Many modern cars have immobiliser information programmed to them and will not work if you plug them straight in). We also repair missing pixels on displays, commonly a problem on Audi and Peugeot units particularly. We can correct the mileage on most makes and model cars, useful if you have fitted a secondhand instrument cluster and the display is reading an incorrect mileage reading, or if your dash has had a voltage surge and sent the mileage reading haywire (Often 999999 miles can be displayed after a jump start) Peugeot / Citroen owners take note: If you fit a secondhand Body Control Unit (BSI) to you car – the mileage is stored in this unit and will overwrite the mileage on your cluster if it was from a higher mileage car! We can correct this and set your mileage to the original readings from £75+vat
